Fat Dissolving Injections

LIPO- DISSOLVE or FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS

Lipo-dissolve or fat dissolving injections are performed with a natural occurring compound (bile salts) called Phosphatidylcholine/ Sodium Deoxycholate (PCDC). PCDC is a naturally occurring compound in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat.

When PCDC is injected into the fat layer, the fat cells absorb the PCDC and become slightly inflamed, then harden. The hardened fat cells break down within a few weeks and are eliminated via natural body process.

Using a fine needle, the PCDC is injected into the target fat area. This area is marked out for the series of injections. The process takes about 20-30 minutes.

Post injection care: Swelling may last for up to 10 days. Many patients comment on a “bull frog” appearance for the first few days post treatment. Area redness, bruising, and skin ulceration are also side effects that can occur.

Results will develop gradually over time as the fat disappears and contour improves.

A series of 3 treatments is average, but some may need up to 6 treatments. Treatments are spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
